Traditional transfers from second-generation video tape result in grainy, washed-out video and muddy audio.

Transferred directly from the original, THE AVENGERS 67 collection offers bright, clear video and truer audio than has ever been available to AVENGERS audiences in the U.S.

When film producers or editors format programs for use on TV or home video, they always want to work with a version as close as possible to the original film or master copy. The closer they are to the original film, the better the quality of the duplicated piece. In creating a U.S. format home video of a program that originally aired in the U.K., the standard process has been to transfer the British TV broadcast master tape directly to U.S. TV format. Since the British TV formatted tape is usually already one generation away from the original film version the resulting quality of the U.S. TV format is often poor.
To make THE AVENGERS available for the first time on home video in the
U.S., great importance was placed on offering the highest quality picture
possible. The original program was obtained, and transferred directly to a
U.S. format digital master -- in this case, to D2 tape. This results in a
home video that is sharp, bright, and clearer than ever before.
